Many people have questions about what their first chiropractic visit at Momentum Medical will look like, and we wanted to try to shed some light on the first visit process.
After entering one of our nine conveniently located offices, you will receive an initial consultation with one of our physicians to go over your health conditions, whether or not you have any health concerns, as well as possible treatment options. After you have been evaluated by the chiropractor, he has an understanding of your ailments, and can assure you that our services can help, recommendations for treatment can then be made.
Also on your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a small amount of paperwork, which should not take very long. This paperwork supplies us with important information about you and your specific health needs.
In order to figure out what your underlying health problems are, the chiropractor will ask you several questions related to your ailments. Afterward, a multitude of specialized tests will be administered to get to the bottom of which tissues are affected and how badly they are damaged.
It is entirely possible that your unique condition may necessitate that we take x-rays to either rule out more serious health problems or assist in the development of our specialized treatment plan, which will be most effective for you.
After you have completed your consultation, paperwork, and necessary tests/studies, it is often the case that you will be able to have your first chiropractic treatment during this initial visit. This can include spinal manipulations, physical therapies, and soft tissue therapies.
Before leaving the appointment, you will be given guidance on specific activities or exercises to be performed at home. This can possibly include the application of ice or heat, avoidance of certain body positions or activities, as well as exercises or stretches.
Upon completion of all of the above, you will be offered a convenient appointment time for your next visit. In general, patients are seen within a few days and we will provide you with a complete rundown of our findings. Treatment possibilities for your condition(s) will also be touched on during this time.
